Born in Belgaum, Karnataka, in the midst of lush farms, rolling hills, cascading waterfalls, quaint villages, and a myriad of people; all inspired him to paint the world around him.

Although he started painting at the young age of 12, he achieved his "breakthrough" at the age of 40, when he held his 1st solo exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery in the year 1991.
